Jaye Martin is an exuberant yoga teacher who is highly acclaimed and widely sought after for his expertise, enthusiasm, and spirituality. Loved for his heart and intelligence alike, Jaye gifts students of all levels with his bright spirit and his skill in communicating both the subtle and technical aspects of the practice.
Jaye began practicing yoga in 1998 after successful careers as a professional clarinetist and classical ballet dancer. While dancing, he discovered his talent for articulating and teaching complex dance moves. That talent transferred easily to yoga, and his students soon were wowed by his ability to guide them safely into complex and advanced yoga poses.
Initially, Jaye studied Ashtanga yoga with David Swenson, Richard Freeman, and Vickie Sorenson, and he taught in that style for four years before finding Anusara yoga. Now certified in Anusara, Jaye apprenticed with John Friend and has both studied and taught with Betsey Downing, Douglas Brooks, and Sianna Sherman. Presently, Jaye instructs several yoga teacher trainings, and he leads workshops as well as retreats internationally. When he is at home in sunny Sarasota, Florida, he teaches a devoted following, enjoys practicing on the beach, fire dancing, and gardening.
